This article aims to provide understanding to the community about the importance of land certificates as the right to land ownership by people living on the coast of gorontalo. Coastal land ownership actually sees several factors including land adjacent to marine space that is the center of exploitation and utilization of resources that are regulated by the government, the second of which pays attention to coastal environmental factors into the residence of indigenous peoples or fishing communities. This factor emphasizes that coastal land in administrative determination of ownership is different and does not necessarily mean land located far from the coast. This stigma is harbored by coastal communities, so that in those who build houses in coastal areas mostly build with semi-permanent materials do not even have a land certificate on top of the building of the house they build. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
