Abstract

The potential for solid waste is 6x more than the production of sago starch, which is±18 tons of wet sago dregs/day. The purpose of this study was to determine the heat capacity of sago waste-based briquettes. For the ratio of adhesive and charcoal using a ratio of 1: 5, 1: 6, 1: 7 and 1:10. The analysis stage after the treatment of the carbonization/carbonization sample is followed by the grinding and sifting process. The results of the analysis showed 100 grams of adhesive and 600 grams of charcoal, a ratio of 1:5 the dough was too liquid so it was difficult to form and caused a waste of charcoal. The ratio of 1:7 is easy to crack because the dough is too dry. Comparison 1: 10. Gives good results. The resulting heat capacity is 1195 heat. FT-IR analysis showed a wide band of 3442.94 cm-1 to 3415. 93 cm-1 which showed the free OH strain vibrations of the OH group in the cellulose molecule. 1178.51 cm-1, -1039.53 cm-1, - 1024.20 cm-1, CC and COC glycosidic ether band. SEM data describes the differences in the surface morphological structure of each sample and is supported by XRD data. © 2023 Author(s).
