In this article, it is stated that all samples were obtained from the “Imam Reza Hospital of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Tabriz, Iran” for a study into the frequency and function of T lymphocytes involved in the immune responses of SARS-CoV-2 patients with varying disease severity compared to normal subjects. However, the scientific background and geographical origin of the co-authors appear highly diverse, including an author affiliated with a Department of Aquatic Management, and another one with a Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. Further, concerns included the addition of two co-author names to the submission during the first revision process, without requesting or receiving permission from the handling Editor, which is contrary to the journal policy on changes to authorship. Extensive discussion with the corresponding author has not provided justification for the breadth of authors that is considered fully acceptable by the Editor-in-Chief. Complete, trustworthy documentation from the corresponding author supporting the significant contribution of all the co-authors has not been provided. Sadly, no documentation was received from the institutions at which the major research took place. The above-mentioned concerns have led the Editor-in-Chief to publish this expression of concern.” © 2024
