The key benefits of multilevel inverters include higher efficiency, higher power density, and improved power quality, making them a viable option for this application. The proposed Switched capacitor multilevel inverter topology requires thirteen unidirectional switches, one bidirectional switch, a single DC voltage source, and four capacitors for obtaining the 17-level output voltage with quadruple voltage boosting ability. The capacitor's voltages are self-balanced, reducing the complexity of circuits and eliminating the requirement for additional circuits or sensors. The proposed topology's feasibility is examined under fixed and dynamic loads. The PLECS software is employed to determine the losses across the components. The proposed topology has an efficiency of over 97% and can generate 17 levels of 4.86% total harmonics distortion (THD). © 2024 IEEE.
